My name is Selim. I’m 20 years old, and I’ve always lived between two worlds: the Netherlands and Turkey. I’m a visual storyteller, not just behind the camera, but through my whole approach to life. My passion lies in capturing the real stories, energy, and style of young people like me who grow up influenced by different cultures, but find a sense of belonging in both.
Right now, I’m studying Smart Media Production at HvA in Amsterdam, and I’ve only recently started my creative journey. My camera is still new, but my urge to create isn’t. I want to use visuals to express the aesthetic of street culture, the vibe of the city, and the unique perspective you get when you’re always mixing two backgrounds.
Through film and photography, I aim to show what’s rarely shown: the daily reality, ambition, and style of the young generation that finds its inspiration in both Dutch and Turkish roots. Whether on the streets of Amsterdam, Istanbul, or anywhere in between, I seek out urban moments, fashion, music, and authentic city life, foregrounding the subtle stories that make us who we are.
My work is about reflection and connection: not just my story, but the story of many. Every project I make is a learning experience. I’m focused on experimenting, collaborating, and sharing the world as I see it, honest and raw. If you’re interested in collaborating, exchanging ideas, or want to experience this world through my lens, feel free to look around or get in touch.
This portfolio is not just my showcase, but a growing collection of moments, emotions, and visuals that reflect my journey between cultures and streets.
